A 34-year-old woman, Manpreet Jatana, and a 36-year-old man, Jaskiret Singh Uppal, both of Indian origin, have been formally charged with the murder of a 3-year-old girl in west London nearly two years ago, reported timesofindia.indiatimes.com.

The toddler, identified as Penelope Chandrie, was found deceased at a residential address on Pennine Way, Hayes, on the evening of December 17, 2023, prompting a prolonged investigation by the Metropolitan Police

Emergency services were called to the home in December 2023, and the investigation continued until arrests were made on 25 September 2025. Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), both Jatana and Uppal were charged with murder.

They appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court, and the case is now set to proceed through the criminal court system. Reporting restrictions remain in place until further hearings.
